Does life ever get so busy you don't know how you could possibly cram one more thing in? That's is what the rest of this year already feels like to me. We're moving, camping, holidays, two street faires, oodles of classes and then the usual household items as well! Plus play dates, preschool, bible studies and oh my goodness. So last night I created for myself and of course for the street faires but it was nice to cram a couple of projects in there for me. Thought I'd share!

Pinwheel Party
Recently I created a bundle of spinning pinwheels for a 4th Birthday Party. In bright blues & reds to go with the spiderman theme. The party looked like it was a blast and was coordinated by Lindsay Landman Events in New York. The event coordinator kindly allowed me to post pictures of my pinwheels at their party on my blog. Artful Thursday Found Paper Notebook
Artful Thursday
Since we just gave birth to our little guy two weeks ago I've been slacking on the artful thursdays! But I've finally had time to finish a project...I apologize ahead of time for the lack of photos.
Found Paper Journal
First gather your materials:
Vintage Paper
Fabric
Felt
Buttons
Two Rings for Binding
Adhesive
Scissors
Step 1: Cut cover, back cover and pages to 4x6 or smaller.
Step 2: For the cover: Cut 4x6 of slightly heavier cardstock or cardboard. I used a vintage steno notebooks cover. Next cut fabric to fit with about 1/2" overhang. Apply adhesive to cardboard and lay fabric over it, smooth the fabric so its nice and straight. Then use adhesive on the overhanging pieces and adhere to inside of the cover. Next cut piece of vintage paper to fit the inside of the cover...adhere to inside of cover. Be sure to cover the edges of the fabric.
Step 3: Stack book as you'd like it then using Crop-A-Dile punch the holes for the binding rings.
Step 4: Assemble pages and covers with binding rings.
Step 5: Create embellishments to adorn the cover. I created a couple of felt and fabric posies and then printed out the words "hope springs eternal" on iron on fabric labels.
A few of the inside pages. I used postcards, lined paper, ledger paper and more.
Also tried Julie's mini notebook! So cute!

Artful Thursday #5 Better Late Than Never
Artful Thursday Post #5
So late but I figured better late than never. My husband and I recently went to a wedding and there were a bunch of the little bubble containers left over. So I snagged a few to create a little bouquet of fun!!! Super easy and you'll need a few supplies:
Shrinky Dink Plastic, Colored Pencils, Vintage Paper, Scenic Sand (I choose blue), Empty Mini Bubble Container, Vintage stamens, leaves and seam binding, Ribbon Scraps, Piercer, Heat Gun, Sand Paper, Florist Wire, Butterfly Stamp.
Step 1:
Punch out three 2" scalloped circles out of shrink plastic.
Sandpaper the circles then color with colored pencils.
Step 2:
Punch hole into the scalloped circle with piercing tool and then heat with heat gun. The plastic will shrink and create a gorgeous little flower.
Step 3:
Thread each shrinked plastic flower with vintage stamens & wire.
Then create a cute mini bouquet by adding leaves and twisting wire to bind together.
Step 4:
Fill tube with scenic sand and seal with glue & topper.
Glue bouquet to the top of the topper.
Step 5:
Create cute little butterfly tag to attach to tube by stamping image on vintage paper, cutting out and then adhering to bubble tube.
Final Step:
Tie seam binding and ribbon around the bouquet! Give this adorable little vase to a friend or attach to the top of a gift for a one of a kind gift wrap!
