Happy New Year

As 2011 comes to a close I always tend to reflect on the past New Years Eves and how I spent them. One of my favorite included my family (I was about 10) and we played board games until midnight. One particular board game we played was called Aggravation and my Dad eventually threw the board in order to save dignity before he lost to my little sister. At midnight we proceeded to step outside onto our porch and yell out Happy New Year! My dad passed a little gas and of course all of us girls giggled and giggled. That will always be one of my favorite New Years! Since we've had the pleasure of bringing two little ones in the world we usually celebrate New Years Eve on New York time. Saves us from dealing with really cranky kids in the morning.

2011...the year has just flown by. My first full year of Barn Sales, Craft Shows & Flea Markets. I've loved every minute of it and can't wait to keep them going. There are a handful of goals I've set for myself in the new year and I pray that I can keep them the best that I can.
1. Keep Up with Weight Watchers (meet my goal weight by 2013...hopefully before than).
2. Play More
3. Read More (I'm not sure that possible but I'm going to try)
4. Spend Less
5. Pamper Myself More...instead of taking two minute showers all the time enjoy the shower, shaving my legs, exfoliating, etc. I'm always in a hurry so I need to savor being a woman and enjoying all the things that come along with it.
6. Create More...this one should be a no-brainer as I love it. I could spend hours and hours creating! Need to up the creations this year and blog more.

Hope you New Year is prosperous!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

An unusual combination

Today I am heading to the ever-dreaded mall. I have a gift certificate to Victoria's Secret and a coupon that I will be redeeming there. However it almost makes me want to forfeit them as I'm not a big fan of the Christmas crowds. So instead I'm procrastinating and doing another card challenge.

This is an unconventional hue for a Christmas card....but I had the scraps sitting on my desk from the card below and waa-la! Colors Used: Poppy Parade, Pink Pirouette, Basic Black & Whisper White.

Is it too early for Valentine's Day?!?

A few more Vintage Marketplace Pictures...some more of my lampshades.

And finally my hubby & friend have been working on some concrete counter tops for a workplace. They were like two little kids being allowed to pick whatever candy they wanted at the Candy Shoppe. So giddy!!!

Vintage Marketplace Holiday Show

Another amazing Vintage Marketplace. Thanks again Christie & Rita for putting on such a spectacular event!! Had a lovely time!

My lovely neighbor across the way "JUNK FAIRY" Eloise & her daughter crack me up! I purchase a couple great things from her!

Some of my booth...everything is gone except for the Lab Oven & Budweiser pillowcases. Industrial goodies love them!

Sweet Magnolias Farm...these ladies are so creative and inspired! Their whole booth was amazing.

Robin my next door neighbor at the show is so much fun! Her furniture is amazing and she has a very sweet personality!

My booth...some of my scrappy lampshades. I've got a couple left...will be adding them to the shop soon.

Plus a couple cards inspired by an online card sketch. Hope you enjoy them...more photos to come tomorrow.

This card I created using Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke & Very Vanilla. The best combo for traditional Christmas cards.

Using the same sketch I created an entirely different card. A masculine Birthday card "slow and steady".
