2. Take cut petals and line them up side by side on a piece
of scrap paper.

3. Using Staz On Ink stamp with little birdie stamp on burlap
pieces. Let dry.
4. Cut 1/4" circle out of felt scraps.

5. Layer burlap petals & tulle scraps on felt circle.

What a Mustache Filled Day!!!

Today was my son's Birthday Party! It was such a blast and we had a really enjoyable time...hectic but enjoyable! As you can see from the pictures we had a mustache theme!

I got this amazing pinata custom made by Birch Angel on etsy www.birchangel.etsy.com and then in each kid's goodies bags was a handmade mustache on a stick by P&Q's www.psandqs.etsy.com and an eco friendly mustache shaped crayon by Chase Dreams www.chasedreams.etsy.com! Everything was so well made and it was just a heck of a party!

Pinatas! Candy! Cupcakes! As long as it contained sugar my son was thrilled!!

Artful Thursday Spool Necklace

Artful Thursday
"Spool Necklace"

I received a fun little package in the mail yesterday full of wooden spools, bits of vintage goodies, butttons and such! So I was inspired to create a fun little necklace. The necklace will be sold in my etsy shop with all the proceeds going to the Greater Hope Orphanage in Cambodia.

Materials Needed:
Small Wooden Spool
Strip of vintage fabric (I used this fun polyester shirt that was stained but still a lovely fabric).
Vintage Sheet Music Scrap
Charms, vintage costume jewelry

Directions:
1. Adhere strip of vintage sheet music around the wooden spool.
2. Loop strip of fabric to create a neckhole then measure, tie a knot where wanted.
3. Thread wooden spool onto the fabric strips, knot at the end of the spool.
4. Attach charms, vintage jewelry with leftover strips at end of the spool.
5. Tie another fabric strip to the top of the fabric strips above the wooden spool.
And TA-DA! You have a cute and fun necklace! Add more embellishements to make it a really dazzling necklace!

Step 2: Stamp desired image/images at or above the line.

Step 3: Layer & collage with vintage ephemera, scrapbook paper, ribbons, trims, stamps and create a one of a kind lunch bag! I'm having a giveaway for some of my decoupaged clothespins ends April 19th so check it out and comment to win!

Artful Thursdays Number 1

Collaged Tart Pan Magnet
I have so many projects rolling around in my head and all the supplies scattered about my craft room that when I saw Julie Collings challenge to create a project every thursday I was thrilled. Finally a challenge and a clean up in progress at the same time. For my first project I only had about a day so I choose a small project I had wanted to try my hand out for some time. For this simple little tart pan magnet I gathered my supplies:

-Vintage Tart Pan
-Vintage Ephemera (I used a fun little ready book page)
-Vintage Lined Paper
-Tulle Scraps
-Vintage Seam Binding
-Vintage Millinery Pieces (leaf & flowers)
-Little Birdie Rubber Stamp (asspocketproductions.etsy.com)
Plus Mod Podge Sparkle, Glue, Scissors, Adhesive Magnet, Ink Pad

Here are the DIY instructions:
1. Measure inner circle of tart pan and cut out that size circle in the lined paper.
2. Select words from vintage ephemera, cut out and adhere to lined paper circle. Then stamp bird image on the lined paper.
3. Adhere lined paper circle to the inside of the tart pan.
4. Fill with mod podge and let dry. (I have this ancient bottle of mod podge sparkle that I used...I keep everything.)

5. While waiting for it to try create a little mini bouquet out of the millinery pieces, tulle scraps and seam binding.
6. Adhere mini bouquet to inside of tart pan.
7. Adhere magnet to back of the tart pan.

And there you have it! An adorable magnet to adorn your fridge, memo board and more!
